How Clipt Handles Your Data

1. Scope

This policy covers the Clipt web application, browser extension, APIs, rendering worker, support channels, and any other interface that links to it (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you acknowledge that we process your personal information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account data such as name, email, authentication tokens, organization details, and profile imagery pulled from your identity provider.
User content including uploaded videos, renders, thumbnails, captions, transcripts, clip settings, and collaboration metadata.
Support and research data like survey responses, bug reports, or beta feedback.

Automatically collected data

Device and technical identifiers (IP address, browser, OS, language, crash logs) used to secure the Services and improve performance.
Usage analytics such as feature interactions, render queue events, extension activity, and timestamps.
Cookie and similar tracking data for session continuity, authentication, and preferences.

Information from others

Payment processors supplying billing confirmations and fraud indicators.
Cloud vendors that host and transcribe clips on our behalf.
Partners or teammates who invite you to shared workspaces and provide your email or role information.

3. How We Use Information

We process information to perform the contract governing your use of Clipt, to pursue our legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Service), to comply with legal obligations, and when you grant consent.

Provide uploads, AI captioning, editing, rendering, and sharing workflows.
Store and back up projects, enable collaboration, and deliver customer support.
Monitor uptime, detect abuse or malware, and protect users from fraud.
Develop new features, train models, and personalize onboarding or tips.
Send mandatory service communications and optional marketing (opt-out anytime).
Meet tax, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements.

4. How We Share Information

With vetted subprocessors (cloud hosting, transcription, rendering, analytics, customer support tools) bound by confidentiality agreements.
With teammates or collaborators when you intentionally share projects or export assets to third-party platforms.
With payment processors and banks to complete transactions and prevent fraud.
When required by law, court order, or to enforce our Terms of Service.
In connection with a merger, financing, or acquisition involving Kabal LLC.

We do not sell personal information or allow advertising networks to use your clips for their own targeting.

5. International Transfers

Clipt may store or process data in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. When transferring personal information across borders we rely on contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and require providers to meet our security standards.

6. Retention & Security

We retain account information while you maintain an account and delete or anonymize clips within 90 days after you remove them unless we must keep them for legal reasons.
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, auditing, and isolated render workers to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, so promptly notify us of suspected issues at support@clipt.cc.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Access, export, or delete content through in-product tools.
Request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by emailing support@clipt.cc. We may ask for verification before fulfilling requests.
Update marketing preferences inside account settings or by using opt-out links in emails.
Control cookies in your browser. Essential cookies are required for authentication and cannot be disabled without impacting service availability.

Residents of certain regions (e.g., EU, UK, California, Brazil) may have additional rights. We will honor applicable requests in line with local law.

8. Children

Clipt is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it and may close the account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or security practices. Material changes will be highlighted in-product or via email. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance.
